Job Summary
Laboratory Quality and Compliance Coordinatorpatrols comprehensive quality and regulatory oversight across clinical laboratory services. Primary responsibilities include providing technical and scientific oversight of laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with CAP, CLIA, AABB, and COLA accreditation standards, overseeing policies and procedures, leading change management and process-improvement initiatives, delivering education on quality and regulatory compliance, evaluating workflows to improve efficiency, managing proficiency testing enrollment, collaborating with vendors to assess products for high-quality point-of-care testing, coordinating IT-system reliability for LIS, BBIS, and HIS platforms, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring CLIA/ACHC certification requirements are met. Additional duties include coordinating staff competency assessments, supporting emergency room/urgent care point-of-care testing inspections, and other duties as assigned. Education requirements include a minimum Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related sciences, with a preferred Master’s degree and five years of laboratory training or experience in high-complexity testing. Experience requirements specify at least three years in laboratory testing, quality reporting, accreditation, phlebotomy, and management, with prior oversight of analytical or quality functions and strong regulatory knowledge. Licensure/certification required includes MT (ASCP) registered or MLS certified, meeting CLIA 1988 requirements for Technical Supervisor and Technical Consultant.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or chemical, physical, or biological science from an accredited institution
- MT (ASCP) registered or MLS certified
- Three (3) years’ experience with Laboratory testing (general lab), quality reporting, laboratory accreditation, phlebotomy, point of care, and management
