Job Summary
Conduct routine and non-routine chemical, microbiological, and physical tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished cosmetic products. Analyze formulations for consistency and stability while ensuring compliance with FDA, ISO, and GMP regulations. Investigate deviations, non-conformities, and quality issues through root cause analysis and corrective action plans. Review raw material specifications and Certificates of Analysis, then maintain accurate records and prepare reports for management. Collaborate with production and R&D teams to recommend process improvements and ensure proper labeling for audits. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and 2+ years in quality control, with flexibility for work outside regular hours.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field
- Proven experience as a Quality Chemist or in a similar quality control role, preferably in the cosmetic industry
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and testing
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address quality issues
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Proficiency in using quality control equipment and software
- Flexibility to respond to quality control needs outside regular hours
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related field
- Experience in inspections and quality systems in a manufacturing environment
- 2+ years of experience in quality control or analytical chemistry, preferably in the cosmetic, personal care, or pharmaceutical industry
- Strong knowledge of GMP, FDA, and ISO regulations
- Proficiency in using laboratory equipment such as pH meters, viscometers, spectrophotometers, and HPLC
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong documentation/record keeping skills and excellent communication skills
- High level of accuracy with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good problem-solving skills
