Job Summary
Conduct daily inspections of parts and packaged box labels to verify compliance with customer specifications and Falcon Plastics quality standards. Submit samples for testing, utilize measuring instruments including calipers and CMM, and identify non-conforming products using historical documentation and sample library standards. Record inspection data, communicate quality standards to operators and supervisors, and isolate or retain pertinent samples. Provide process improvement recommendations, train new inspectors, and assist in evaluating purchased vendor parts. Maintain sample library and resolve quality issues through Level 2 product disposition authority. Requires willingness to schedule overtime and respond to call-in requests during non-scheduled days.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Up to three months related experience or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
