Job Summary
Audit cast, trim, and secondary operations by reading standardized work instructions and gauging products to meet customer requirements. Perform 1st piece and end-of-run inspections, maintain inspection records, and document data into quality systems. Communicate quality issues to operators and managers, assist with containment efforts, and train production associates on part-specific standards. Operate gauging equipment including calipers, micrometers, and CMMs, while ensuring compliance with safety protocols and 5-S standards. Work overtime as required and adapt to frequent job duty changes in a manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- Experience using inspection and gauging equipment (calipers, micrometers, snap gauges and pin gauges)
- Knowledge of parts and manufacturing process including work and inspection instructions
- Knowledge of basic computers
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Possess good physical stamina and coordination
- Ability to continuously and repetitively: Walk and stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to Read standardized work instructions, operate machines and tools, and perform quality inspections
- Ability to Promptly detect and respond to visual and auditory safety instructions, alarms, and signals
- Ability to Wear personal protective equipment, for example: safety glasses, gloves, hats, ear plugs, long-sleeves, and steel-toed safety shoes
- Ability to Work in a loud manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled (conditions can be hot or cold)
- Ability to Use hand positioning to grip/grasp devices such as gauges, calipers, measuring devices, and a wide range of power and vibrating tools or other equipment
- Ability to Frequently and repetitively: Bend, push, pull, twist, kneel, and reach to perform work
- Ability to Lift or carry materials weighing up to 20 pounds and periodically care or lift materials weighing up to 35lbs
- Ability to Ascending and descending steps, stairs, and platforms
- Ability to Recognizes potential exposure to mechanical, chemical, electrical, and explosive hazards
- High School Diploma preferred
