Job Summary
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to verify product meets safe food handling and quality standards, taking corrective action when issues arise. Analyze product chemistry including sugar solids, pH, and viscosity while ensuring UHT processor parameters are balanced and aseptic controls are followed. Perform HACCP monitoring activities such as filter checks, metal detector monitoring, and allergen verifications, then properly document all data and communicate findings to supervisors. Inspect rework, verify product integrity during filling, and act as a trainer for QA lab and line policies. Collect samples, maintain the retain library, and assist in problem-solving events to determine root causes.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 1-3 years' experience in a laboratory environment
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- A proven track record of exceptional organizational, planning and overall time management skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication
- A comprehensive understanding of the core competencies of Lyons' manufacturing capabilities and proprietary product development
- Ability to follow directions
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Detail oriented with the ability to maintain accurate and legible documentation
- Night shift availability (10:00pm - 6:30am)
- Pay range expectation ($18.00 per hour + a 10% differential)
Desired Qualifications
- Additional course work in (Biology, Chemistry, Food Science) or related discipline
- Has knowledge and application of +50% of all laboratory procedures
- Cross functionally trained and able to cover +75% of Quality Control and Assurance checks or expectations of all production lines and Analytical Laboratory Stations
- Has knowledge and application of 100% of all laboratory procedures
- Cross functionally trained and able to cover 100% of Quality Control and Assurance checks or expectations
- Act as the Trainer for all QA Lab, Line, and dept. policies and procedures
- Perform sensory evaluation on samples and document as necessary
- Ensure effective collection and shipment of customer samples and with appropriate documentation
