Job Summary
Conduct basic water chemistry tests, including pH, turbidity, and residual cleaning chemical analysis. Perform online inspection, sanitation, and cleaning activities while collecting samples using aseptic techniques for microbiological analysis of coliform, air, pseudomonas, yeast, mold, and algae. Evaluate results against specifications and manage the factory release of finished products through inspection, diagnosis, and record keeping. Monitor incoming water from pipelines and bulk deliveries, maintain UV-light reactors, and clean and disinfect water process piping and storage tanks. Collaborate with production technicians and team leaders to resolve quality issues and conduct internal audits for food safety programs. Shift: Monday - Friday 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM; overtime and weekends required. Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Microbiology, or Food Science/Technology with two years of manufacturing experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science/Technology, or comparable Science field
- Minimum (2) years' experience in related role
- Prior experience working with chemicals
- Knowledge of microbiological techniques such as preparation of media, reading and interpreting microbial growth and standard plating techniques
- Knowledge of EPA and FDA regulations for water and waste disposal
- Able to lift and pull 50 lbs. as needed while performing work
- Must be able to do physical inspections of equipment that will require climbing, reaching, and extending arms overhead
- Candidates must possess strong English language skills
- Proficiency in English
