Job Summary
Quality Assurance Technician to ensure textiles meet established quality levels. Responsibilities include Textile Testing (new product spec testing, circulating linen spot checks, vendor assurance spot checks, circulating weight testing), Process Monitoring (daily visual inspection of wash systems, checks of soiled load weights and soil factors), Wash System Titrations to support washroom chemistry, Regulated Waste Management (collection, verification, chain of custody, disposition), Rewash/Ragout data collection and entry, Microbiological Testing (sampling of water, air, surface, and textiles), and Effluent Monitoring (daily wastewater sampling for pH, TDS, temperature). Regular audits for TRSA and other regulatory standards; comprehensive recordkeeping across RMW, effluent monitoring, microbiological testing, textile testing, QC audits, and related reports. Job Requirements emphasize understanding basic chemistry, proficiency with LinenMaster, MS Office, and E-Tech; bilingual Spanish is a plus; strong problem solving, writing, and communication skills; ability to lift 50 pounds; schedule Mon-Fri 6:00AM–2:30PM; location in Martinsburg, WV and High Point, NC; HandCraft Services is an equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Understanding of basic chemistry principles (pH, water hardness) and ability to titrate solutions to determine concentrations of wash chemicals
- Ability to learn and operate LinenMaster, Microsoft Office Suite and E-Tech software
- Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus
- Excellent problem solving, writing, communication and people skills
- Ability to familiarize oneself with all products
- Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, push/pull full carts of linen; repetitive motions; stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling as needed
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
