Job Summary
QA/QC Lab Technician responsible for supporting quality standards for beer products. Responsibilities include collecting samples for microbiological, analytical, and sensory analyses; data entry and analysis with Excel; testing raw materials, packaged products, and dry goods; aseptic processing of microbiological samples using selective media and PCR; media and reagent preparation, instrument calibration, and lab upkeep; communicating findings to Quality Manager and Operations teams; assisting with sensory panel execution; monitoring packaging lines for GMP/SOP compliance; identifying non-conforming products per SOP; and contributing to continuous learning while supporting additional duties. Must be able to work a flexible schedule (early mornings, late nights, weekends) and operate in a lab environment with appropriate safety protocols. Requires strong communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to handle physically demanding tasks up to 70 lbs on occasion.
Desired Qualifications
- 4-year degree in Biology, Chemistry, Fermentation Science, Food Science or related programs (recommended)
- Previous brewery/laboratory experience preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, SharePoint, Google Docs, Smartsheets)
- Ability to work in a team and in fast-paced environments
- Flexibility to work early mornings, late nights, weekends
- Aseptic processing and microbiological analysis experience (PCR, media preparation) is a plus
