Job Summary
Conduct quality assurance and quality control activities across surfacing and construction operations to ensure projects meet highest standards. Monitor compliance with NZTA/Waka Kotahi specifications, maintain accurate records of technical data, and support operational teams in delivering infrastructure projects. Collect, analyze, and report project quality data while identifying risks and supporting inspection and test plan requirements. Work closely with supervisors and engineers in both field and office environments to uphold safety and continuous improvement across Wellington region initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience
- Experience working within the civil construction, surfacing or infrastructure industry
- Full NZ Class 1 + WTR Endorsement (Class 2 Driver Licence advantageous)
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Experience maintaining accurate records and managing technical data
- Understanding of quality assurance and quality control processes
- Ability to identify risks and support compliance requirements in operational environments
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork
- Applicants may be required to undergo pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, medical assessments and reference checks
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of NZTA/Waka Kotahi specifications and requirements
- Experience developing or working with Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
- Familiarity with asphalt, sealing, surfacing or construction operations
- Experience collecting, analysing and reporting project quality data
