Job Summary
Conduct detailed inspections of components, assemblies, and materials to verify compliance with military, aerospace, and customer specifications. Operate precision measuring instruments including CMM, comparators, and gauges to measure product dimensions and interpret drawings, process procedures, and quality documents. Perform First Article Inspections, product verification, and lot testing while reviewing FAI reports for government agency acceptance. Analyze data to identify quality trends, root causes of defects, and recommend corrective measures, participating in material review board reviews and improvement events. Develop and implement quality procedures, conduct audits, and maintain accurate inspection records in support of ISO9001, AS9100, and CMMC standards.
Required Qualifications
- Proficient with thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Microsoft Excel, Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Outlook
- Five plus years working experience in an aerospace / similar inspection environment
- Knowledge and understanding of FAR, DFARS, DLA, DCMA regulations and clauses
- Ability to perform First Article Inspections, Product Verification and Test, and Product Lot Testing
- Utilization of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing concepts for inspections
- Identify and apply reference material (material tables, sampling plans, etc.) IAW ASTM, ASME, MILSPEC and ANSI standards
- Utilizes CMM, comparator and precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to measure product dimensions and confirm compliance to specifications and standards
- Identifies and documents defects to facilitate final product disposition in an efficient timely manner
- Ability to set up and operate of the quality inspection center inspection equipment
- Conduct quality audits to confirm processes are being accurately completed
- Maintain professional level of communication both internal to the organization as well as externally to customers and suppliers
- Identify and apply reference material (material tables, sampling plans, etc.) IAW ASTM, ASME, MILSPEC and ANSI standards and make sound decisions resulting from the information available
- Awareness of the quality of work being performed and strive to ensure that it meets company standards and expectations
- Promote a positive culture and teamwork, motivate self and support others to accomplish important objectives in the work environment
- Daily interaction with Manager and staff colleagues and contributes actively to achieving company and departmental goals
- Follow established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, and safety standards
- Support a safe work environment, using safety equipment, ensure safety equipment used in the areas is proper, safe, and used in a productive manner
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's/ Technical Degree or related Discipline a plus
- ISO/AS Auditor Certification helpful
- ASQ Certification Quality Certification
