Job Summary
Supervise departmental staff and coordinate with suppliers and external customers on quality issues and requirements. Conduct in-line quality assurance audits, manage the incoming material control program, and oversee the QA Hold program for raw materials and production rejects. Review production and testing reports, organize internal audits, and prepare for external audits while monitoring the sanitation program. Coordinate product release, Certificate of Compliance, and analysis for customers, and address customer complaints. Perform supervisory duties including hiring, training, and appraising performance in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Communicate with QA management, Production, and Warehouse on test results and deviations. Requires a Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with 3 to 5 years of food industry experience. Monday-Friday schedule with occasional overtime.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in scientific discipline
- 3 to 5 years above relevant work experience in food industry
- AA plus additional applicable experience in lieu of Bachelor's
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-tasking work environment
- Familiarity with quality assurance management and standard
- Experience working with computers and designated software programs as required to perform job functions
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Ability to interact positively with others within the department and the organization
- Ability to effectively supervise others
- Understanding of company and customer specifications
- Ability to ensure proper documentation
- Must be able to work Monday-Friday
- Must be able to work occasional overtime
- Drug free workplace (pre-employment drug screen)
Desired Qualifications
- Dairy/Food science preferred
