QUALITY ASSURANCE SUPERVISOR

Job Summary
Oversee the day-to-day operation of the quality department, collaborating with manufacturing and product development to identify and resolve production and quality system deficiencies. Conduct First Article Inspection of machined parts, castings, and molded components while inspecting finished firearms from both in-house and outside vendors against company standards. Lead the Corrective Action Program, investigate product quality problems to determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to reduce total quality costs. Develop and maintain inspection standards, perform process capability studies, and utilize test equipment including CMM, calipers, and micrometers to document findings and submit reports to the Quality Manager. Train new employees and assemblers on QC processes and problem-solving activities to minimize future mistakes.
Required Qualifications
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 4 years of quality supervision experience in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent technical background with a track-record of problem solving and process development
- General knowledge of CAD and CMM software packages
- Experience with Master Cam, Catia V5 and Solid Works
- Be able to lift objects up to 35 lbs
- Ability to move objects as requested and necessary
- Be able to lift, push and pull objects as necessary
- May be required to stand and walk throughout the workday
- May be required to operate small hand tools
- Occasionally required to bend, stoop, kneel and crouch
Desired Qualifications
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering highly preferred
- Experience in firearm production, tooling and machining highly preferred
