Job Summary
Monitor compliance with CLIA, CAP, and OSHA guidelines while conducting internal audits of laboratory processes and documentation. Investigate non-conformities and discrepancies to develop corrective actions, assist in risk management for safety and performance, and analyze quality data to present insights to leadership. Support continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and updating technical documents, including SOPs, equipment procedures, and training materials. Collaborate with staff to deliver training on quality protocols and resolve workflow issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a laboratory, healthcare, or pharmaceutical environment, with a focus on quality assurance or regulatory compliance
- Strong understanding of laboratory standards, including CLIA, CAP, NYS, and other relevant regulations
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and quality management systems (QMS)
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, etc.)
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff at all levels
- Ability to analyze data, interpret results, and make data-driven decisions
- Ability to write clearly and informatively and ability to read and interpret written information
Desired Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)
