Job Summary
Quality Assurance & Operations Manager for a part-time 20-hour-per-week role focused on building and owning the quality and compliance foundation across markets. Responsible for implementing and continuously improving the Quality Management System (QMS), SOPs, process documentation, and document control; planning and conducting internal audits; shaping compliance requirements with the Solutions team for new markets and partner setups; enforcing requirements with operations and monitoring recycling/collection partners against quality and regulatory standards; defining partner governance and supplier audit cycles; tracking regulatory developments to stay ahead of obligations; maintaining documentation for ISO certifications, insurers, and external audits; serving as the go-to expert on quality and regulatory topics across the organization. English proficiency required; German language considered a strong plus. Remote-first work within Germany with office locations in Germany (Berlin, Hamburg, München) and potential Austria employment options. The role emphasizes ownership, cross-team collaboration, and a hands-on approach within a fast-growing, sustainability-driven company focused on circular economy and waste management.
Required Qualifications
- You have experience building or managing Quality Management Systems
- You have experience conducting or managing supplier and third-party audits
- You are confident creating and maintaining SOPs, process documentation, and document control systems
- You enjoy bringing structure to complex operational processes and continuously improving them
- You communicate confidently across teams and can collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
- You take ownership, work independently, and have a hands-on, execution-oriented mindset
- You are fluent in English; German is a strong plus
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in pharma, med-tech, or another highly regulated industry
- Experience with certification bodies, enterprise customer audits, or insurer compliance requirements (e.g. ISO 9001 and/or ISO 14001)
- Knowledge of sustainability, recycling, waste management, or circular economy topics
- Experience working in a fast-growing startup or scale-up
