Quality Assurance Manager

Job Summary
Manage customer feedback to develop and implement corrective and preventive actions while maintaining direct links with Customer Quality managers to resolve issues without delay. Ensure deliverables comply with applicable regulations, standards, and the Thales Quality Reference system (Chorus) throughout the Bids and Project lifecycle. Conduct internal audits, perform maturity assessments, and analyze data to prevent identifiable risks, raising alerts and vetos when necessary. Facilitate continuous quality improvement by fostering teamwork across bids, projects, and functions, ensuring quality is owned by everyone while minimizing the cost of non-quality. Support project and bid teams in applying processes and developing problem-solving mindsets through independent quality advice.
Required Qualifications
- Tertiary Qualifications in an engineering or related technical discipline
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Engineering (i.e. systems engineering, ideally with some S/W development knowledge) with a good understanding of systems and software development principles' and lifecycles
- Experience in quality management, preferably in a system's engineering organisation, or other relevant technically orientated discipline
- Detailed knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System requirements
- Influencing skills including the ability to promote improvement with key stakeholders and managers in the organisation
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to understand and critique requirements
- Expertise in applying problem solving tools, such as 8D
- Good communication & interpersonal skills, including ability to prepare and present reports
- Ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team
- Diplomacy skills, including the ability to withstand pressures and say 'no' when quality is insufficient or processes are not being adhered to
Desired Qualifications
- Audit Qualifications (e.g. Internal Auditor) background or qualifications
- Working experience in Quality assurance for complex and safety critical projects
- Ideally with some S/W development knowledge
- Ideally in a system's engineering organisation
