QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER

Job Summary
Direct the Quality Assurance workforce to achieve safety, animal welfare, and food safety goals across the plant and live operations. Supervise FSQA personnel, organize training, and implement government mandates regarding quality control. Monitor microbiological trends, sanitation performance, and HACCP/GMP procedures while maintaining audit readiness for customer and regulatory reviews. Create and update product quality control programs, evaluate contractor performance, and coordinate new product implementations with engineering and production teams. Track special projects and ensure continuous compliance with customer specifications and BRC certification requirements.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Animal Science, Meat Science, Food Science or related science discipline
- Minimum 4-7 years' experience in the quality assurance area
- HACCP certification
- Processing and Live Production Experience
- Knowledge, background and expertise in egg/poultry operations
- Knowledge, background and expertise in case ready operations
- Areas of knowledge must include HACCP
- Areas of knowledge must include specification adherence to incoming raw materials
- Areas of knowledge must include ingredient and allergen control
- Areas of knowledge must include chilling
- Areas of knowledge must include styling & packaging specs
- Areas of knowledge must include packaging modified atmosphere characteristics
- Areas of knowledge must include final box/package configuration
- Areas of knowledge must include shelf-life
- Areas of knowledge must include trimming
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Statistical/Math background
- Basic computer skills
- Strong Math skills
- Ability to review and analyze large amounts of data and identify trends
Desired Qualifications
- College experience beneficial to develop writing skills and animal science knowledge
- Egg Production Experience preferred
- B.S. in Animal Science, Meat Science, Food Science or related science discipline preferred
