Job Summary
Oversee all quality control, inspection, and systems to ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, SQF, and USDA regulations. Supervise and schedule QA technicians across shifts, conduct pre-operational and production line audits, and manage the food and microbial laboratories. Lead root cause investigations, implement CAPAs, and handle nonconformances from vendors and internal audits. Validate cleaning procedures, manage digital documentation and traceability records, and sign off on product releases. Escalate food safety risks immediately, act as the primary contact for USDA inspectors, and conduct training for new hires. Collaborate with sanitation and maintenance teams to ensure equipment readiness. Maintain continuous improvement of quality systems and adhere to strict off-shift or weekend availability.
Required Qualifications
- QA experience in food manufacturing, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role
- Working knowledge of USDA, FDA, SQF, HACCP, and GMP regulations
- Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and paperless QA platforms (e.g., SafetyChain)
- Flexibility to work off-shifts or weekends as needed to support operations
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in food science, Microbiology, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
