Job Summary
Act as a trusted quality partner across SSAS, providing expert guidance on compliance, risk, and continuous improvement while supporting diverse scientific and operational teams. Lead improvement initiatives that strengthen the Quality Management System, interpret accreditation requirements, and coordinate work with external bodies to ensure successful outcomes. Deputise for the ISO 17025 Quality Manager, manage root cause investigations, and coach colleagues at all levels. Find opportunities to improve processes through technology and smarter ways of working, including solutions such as SharePoint and digital quality tools.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working within an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited laboratory environment
- A strong understanding of quality management systems, accreditation requirements, and compliance frameworks
- Experience leading audits, investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activity
- Experience implementing or improving quality systems, ideally with exposure to digital QMS solutions
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate activities across multiple teams
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to influence, challenge, and build relationships

- Experience leading improvement initiatives that strengthen our Quality Management System and enhance operational effectiveness
- Deputising for the ISO 17025 Quality Manager and supporting the ongoing development of our accredited quality framework
- Collaborating with teams and external accreditation bodies, acting as a project manager to coordinate work and ensure successful outcomes
- Assessing improvement actions, considering criticality, severity, and business impact to prioritise effectively
- Leading audits, root cause investigations, corrective actions, risk assessments, and change control activities
- Supporting the development and optimisation of our electronic Quality Management System (eQMS)
- Finding opportunities to improve processes through technology and smarter ways of working, including solutions such as SharePoint and digital quality tools
- Coaching and supporting colleagues at all levels, from junior team members through to senior leaders
- Quickly grasping different teams, processes, and requirements, adjusting your approach accordingly
