Job Summary
Conduct core Quality Assurance activities in a space systems environment, including understanding QMS, Product Assurance, and Supplier Quality processes. Support process improvement by visualizing workflows, identifying optimization opportunities, and assisting with standardization. Manage product quality throughout the lifecycle by organizing records, tracking metrics, and monitoring improvement initiatives. Structure supplier quality data, organize related information, and help develop supplier information management methods. Produce deliverables such as process mapping, data frameworks, and final reports summarizing analysis and recommendations. This on-site internship is designed for students interested in combining analytical work, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration within a high-reliability engineering team.
Required Qualifications
- Student in engineering, quality, data management, or related field
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Comfortable working with structured data (Excel, databases, etc.)
- Good communication skills in Japanese and English
- Interest in quality assurance and process improvement
- From an 'Export Safe' Country as deemed by the Japanese Government (Japan, Germany, Australia, Argentina, Italy, USA, France, Netherlands, UK, Austria, Ireland, Czech, Spain, Greece, Canada, New Zealand, Belgium, Bulgaria, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Finland, Luxembourg, Portugal, Denmark, Hungary, or Poland)
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100)
- Experience with documentation or data management
- Interest in process improvement and digital transformation
- Strong communication and teamwork skills enabling cross-functional collaboration
- Motivation to learn and grow within a high-reliability production environment
