Job Summary
Quality Assurance Inspector for a manufacturing quality team responsible for in-process and final inspections, audits, calibration tasks, and quality documentation to ensure products meet FuelCell Energy specifications and ISO 9001 standards. Responsibilities include data collection and evaluation, drafting procedures and test methods, supporting root cause investigations, coordinating MRB meetings, training manufacturing personnel, and maintaining calibration systems. Must perform precise measurements with tools such as micrometers, calipers, CMMs, profilometers, and other standards; communicate nonconformance issues via email/reports; assist with validation and troubleshooting of testing methods; and support Receiving & Inspection and other shop inspections within a high-precision manufacturing environment. Physical requirements include mobility to navigate a large plant, lifting up to 25 pounds, and use of PPE. Education and experience emphasize high accuracy, attention to detail, and collaboration with Manufacturing and Engineering teams.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Associate’s degree in engineering technology or an applicable discipline is a plus
- Minimum of 3 years of inspection experience in a production/manufacturing environment
- Able to read and interpret data, specifications, and drawing requirements
- Knowledge of GD&T is a plus
- Demonstrable experience using precision quality measurement tools
- Proficient in English (written and verbal)
- Strong math aptitude
- Self-motivated with ability to work in a team with minimal supervision
- Experience with ISO 9001 standards preferred
- Experience with ERP systems preferred
- ASQ CQI Certification preferred
- Experience with ASTM preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to travel occasionally to the Danbury CT facility as required
