Job Summary
Meticulous Quality Assurance / Food Safety Technician responsible for monitoring the production floor to ensure product quality meets industry standards and customer expectations. 80% of duties occur on the facility floor, including daily GMP/HACCP compliance checks, temperature verification of coolers/freezers, environmental swabs and microbiological sampling, verification of HACCP logs, data trending, and training hourly employees to uphold sanitation and food safety standards. Create charts and visuals to communicate findings and support USDA-regulated standards and regulator/airline customer requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent, preferably with food science/nutrition/chemistry/microbiology background
- Experience or strong ability in recordkeeping and KPI tracking for quality departments
- Proficiency with basic computer software, data trending, SOP creation, and calculator/thermometer use
- Ability to work in cold environments (<40F) and lift/push at least 25 lbs
- Detail oriented with strong communication skills; able to work with minimal supervision and be a problem-solver
- Experience with GMPs, HACCP documentation, and food safety compliance
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements from County Health, State Health Dept, and FDA; knowledge of USDA standards is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-driven environment
- Experience with environmental sampling and laboratory submission processes
- Strong mathematical, analytical, verbal, and writing skills
