Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Summary
Monitor internal and external quality at the plant level and serve as a liaison to customers regarding production quality, RGA, and warranty. Lead shop floor activities for incoming, in-process, and final inspections while supervising daily tasks for quality technicians. Drive root cause investigations using the 5Why/8D process to resolve customer complaints and manage containment, sorting, and rework for quality spills. Execute PPAP submissions, control plan audits, and SOP reviews to ensure products meet safety and regulatory standards. Report quality issues and customer feedback to management, maintain the Sparta 1 Factory QMS, and present reports on KPIs and warranty data. This role supports ISO 9001 activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology or Applied Sciences
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a Mfg. Tier 1 or OEM environment
- APQP and PPAP Core Tools implementation
- Customer relationship building
- CQE, CQI, or Six Sigma Greenbelt
- Print Reading and understanding of GD&T
- ISO 9001 Certified Auditor
- Microsoft Office applications and Minitab
