Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Summary
Ensure compliance with the Dometic Quality Manual and applicable regulatory requirements while independently leading structured problem-solving activities using recognized quality tools and methodologies. Own the creation, execution, and verification of 8Ds, CARs, and customer corrective actions, serving as the primary quality contact for customer issues including complaint handling and containment. Manage Quality Key Performance Indicators such as warranty rates and supplier PPM, drive actions based on trend analysis, and lead the warranty reduction committee to reduce field failures. Lead new product launches including PPAP and PFMEA development, maintain Layered Process Audits, and conduct ISO-based internal and external audits. Own document control activities and provide technical support to manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams. Mentor Quality Technicians and facilitate internal quality action meetings to communicate risks and improvement plans. Requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of manufacturing experience; reports to the Quality Manager in Pompano Beach, FL with up to 10% domestic travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, or Science
- 5+ years equivalent work experience
- ASQ QE certification
- Ability to use metrology and statistical methods to diagnose and correct improper quality assurance practices
- Basic understanding of the audit process including types of audits, planning, preparation, execution, reporting results, follow-up, and the ability to audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction
- Ability to plan, control, assure product and process quality in accordance with quality principles, which include planning processes, material control, acceptance sampling, and measurement systems
- Thorough understanding of problem-solving, quality improvement tools, and techniques. This includes knowledge of management and planning tools, quality tools, preventive and corrective actions, and how to overcome barriers to quality improvements
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and measurement devices
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Experience with ISO requirements (QA Auditor)
- Good interpersonal, written, verbal and analytical skills
- Ability to travel up to 10% Domestic
