Job Summary
Guide quality management efforts to ensure continuous improvement, adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards, and a safe environment for employees, patients, and visitors. Formulate study specifications for compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, COLA/CLIA, CARF, and HIPAA requirements. Coordinate the Hospital-Wide Performance Improvement Program, complete clinical audits, and assist the Chief Operations Officer in developing action plans to close care gaps. Manage the review choice demonstration program, assist with outcomes via IRF PAI and RCD compliance, and interpret raw data for comparative analysis. Requires a Licensed Nurse or RRA license, Bachelor's degree preferred, and 2-3 years of acute care experience. CPHQ certification and knowledge of risk management systems are advantageous. Regular attendance and proficiency in English and mathematical computations are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Nurse or RRA license
- 2-3 years recent clinical work experience in acute care setting
- Knowledgeable in the principles of performance improvement
- Possess in-depth knowledge of functions of all hospital departments and quality improvement requirements as outlined by The Joint Commission, the state of employment's Department of Health and Federal regulatory standards as outlined by CMS
- Experience in Risk Management systems
- Experience in working with the public on issues related to satisfaction/complaints
- Ability to interpret raw data and comparative analysis
- Experience in conducting educational in-services
- Experience in accreditation/certification survey activities for The Joint Commission, CMS, State Licensure

- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements
- Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
- Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions
- Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace
- Regular and punctual attendance
- Ability to read and write, communicate clearly with co-workers and customers and to respond to appropriate questions regarding work process or work product
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral and/or diagram form
- Ability to define and solve problems and collect data
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a health care related field
- Certified Professional Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) certification
