Quality and Supplier Management Engineer

Job Summary
Implement systems and lead quality improvement teams to enhance support for development, installation, and operation of a proactive quality management system. Establish and maintain control plans and PFMEAs, develop gage and tooling strategies, and analyze capability studies to define tooling changes. Champion PPAP submissions and participate in APQP processes, including analysis, testing, and inspection of prototypes. Conduct supplier surveillance audits, create audit reports, and verify closure on corrective actions. Oversee gauging operations, including preventive maintenance and GR&R specifications, while training inspectors on GD&T and measurement techniques. Focus on promoting improvement activities, conducting QC Patrols, and implementing visual management strategies to eliminate non-value added processes.
Required Qualifications
- 4 year degree
- Minimum 5 years of (quality) engineering experience
- ISO/IATF hands-on experience
- CQE designation
- Ability to read, write and understand English in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication to accomplish responsibilities and tasks
- Effective and proven written and oral communication skills
- Proven multi-task and organizational skills
- Strong GD&T experience & knowledge
- Six Sigma (green belt) experience
- Cultural flexibility and the ability to work with intercultural companies
- Computer literacy (word, excel, power point, outlook, SPC)
- Ability to stand possibly for up to 6 hours while on manufacturing floor
- Ability to produce computer generated work
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs unassisted
- Ability to travel to customer site, at time with short notice
- Ability to make vital decisions regarding specifications and product quality
- Adhere to company safety policies and procedures
- Report unsafe conditions or other safety related issues immediately
- Use required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as directed
- Follow ISO-14001 procedures related to environmental impacts & aspects
Desired Qualifications
