Job Summary
Execute accurate and timely analytical testing for raw materials, in-process samples, and end products using defined methods. Conduct organoleptic assessments of finished goods and perform scheduled laboratory equipment calibration and hygiene audits. Report results effectively to production and quality personnel while maintaining data integrity in electronic systems. Work within a rotating team structure that includes weekends to ensure continuous coverage. Maintain proficiency in chromatography, spectrophotometry, and wet chemistry techniques within a food testing environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum HND level (in chemistry or related discipline)
- Minimum 2 years experience in analytical laboratory role
- Experience in Chromatography (ideally HPLC & GC)
- Experience in Spectrophotometry (UV VIS)
- Experience in Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy
- Experience in Wet Chemistry methods including colour change titrations
- Experience of working in a food testing environment
- Flexibility
- Minimum 2 years experience in analytical laboratory role with experience in: Maintenance and calibration of all laboratory equipment to ensure effective operation
- Minimum 2 years experience in analytical laboratory role with experience in: Proficient in IT systems in particular word/excel/powerpoint
- Minimum 2 years experience in analytical laboratory role with experience in: Accurate and timely execution of analytical testing to defined methods (raw material, in process and end product)
- Minimum 2 years experience in analytical laboratory role with experience in: Effective communication of results to production and quality personnel
- Minimum 2 years experience in analytical laboratory role with experience in: Accurate and timely reporting of results in the appropriate electronic system
- Minimum 2 years experience in analytical laboratory role with experience in: Organoleptic assessment of end products
- Minimum 2 years experience in analytical laboratory role with experience in: Laboratory equipment calibration as per schedule
- Minimum 2 years experience in analytical laboratory role with experience in: Hygiene audits as per schedule
- Working in a team structure within a rotating pattern (including weekends)
