Job Summary
Prepare and administer oral, topical, PRN, eye, nasal, and ear medications to residents while checking physician orders and maintaining clean drug storage. Document all administrations, vital signs, and resident conditions with co-signature from a licensed nurse, keeping medical records current and counting drugs on control records at shift change. Order medications from the pharmacy per physician orders and use appropriate drug references when unsure. Make rounds to report resident needs and conditions to the charge nurse, answer call lights and alarms promptly, and care for resident tubing and bags as instructed. Maintain a clean working environment and keep the medication cart locked when unattended.
Required Qualifications
- Certified as a Qualified Medication Aide in the state employed
- Certificate must be active, valid, and in good standing
- Certified as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the state employed
- Certificate must be active, valid, and in good standing
