Job Summary
Administer medications and provide direct resident care in accordance with individualized care plans, including glucose monitoring, insulin administration, and activities of daily living. Document all observations, interventions, and medication delivery while checking vital signs and supporting restorative techniques. Monitor residents for condition changes, communicate updates to physicians and supervisors, and assist with transfers, ambulation, and nutritional needs. Maintain a restraint-free environment, participate in fall prevention programs, and oversee the medication delivery system including MAR documentation and narcotic counts. Lead resident assistants, coach staff, and resolve conflicts to promote resident independence and well-being. Insulin certification required; state-approved medication aide certification mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current and active state-approved medication aide/technician certification
- Must be insulin certified
- CPR or BLS certification
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to walk or stand for extended periods
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, or balance
- Ability to communicate effectively and identify/interpret written information
- Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds independently
- Ability to lift up to 200 pounds with assistance
- Ability to follow infection prevention and control protocols including use of PPE
- Ability to participate in all staff activities aimed at fostering teamwork, unity, and morale
- Ability to stay current on all training and ongoing education initiatives
- Ability to actively pursue self-improvement and embrace opportunities for continuous learning
- Ability to provide reasonable accommodations for disabilities
- Successful completion of a background check
- Successful completion of a drug screening
- Successful completion of required health assessments (such as TB testing or physical evaluations)
