Job Summary
Facilitate accurate flowing communication and manage specialized medical terminology during on-site healthcare interpretation sessions. Ensure comprehension and handle sensitive situations professionally while documenting services and communicating responsively. Work weekdays between 7AM-7PM with flexibility for weekend, evening, and holiday requests. Requires fluency in English and target language, strong medical terminology knowledge, and a nationally accredited 40-hour interpreter training certificate. Must pass drug screening, background check, and immunization requirements. Reliable vehicle and smartphone with data plan needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certificate from a nationally accredited 40-hour interpreter training program: Bridging the Gap (BTG)
- Certificate from a nationally accredited 40-hour interpreter training program: The Community Interpreter International (TCII)
- Certificate from a nationally accredited 40-hour interpreter training program: Cross Cultural Health Care Program (CCHCP)
- Certificate from a nationally accredited 40-hour interpreter training program: Other CCHI or NBCMI recognized programs
- Fluency in English and target language(s)
- Strong medical terminology knowledge in both languages
- Current immunizations or approved exemption
- Drug screening
- Clean background check
- Ability to obtain facility-specific credentials
- Annual facility specific compliance trainings
- Reliable personal vehicle with ability to travel throughout service area

Desired Qualifications
- National certification (CCHI or NBCMI)
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree
- 1+ year medical/community interpreting experience
