Job Summary
Install, service, and repair gas appliances and central heating systems in domestic properties while conducting routine safety inspections. Troubleshoot gas supply and appliance issues using hand tools, power tools, and soldering equipment. Perform heavy lifting, basic carpentry, and system modifications as required for installations. Operate a commercial vehicle to transport between sites and maintain detailed work records. Adhere strictly to health and safety procedures and reporting protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in gas engineering and related trades such as plumbing and electrical fault finding
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and assembly processes
- A smart appearance
- Good communication skills (verbal and written) with customers and colleagues
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of gas and electrical systems, together with safety standards
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and technical documentation
- Good written english for the preparation of job reports and quotations
- The ability to use IT systems to aid the work processes
- A full driving licence
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to strict safety protocols
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in all aspects of domestic gas engineering or plumbing
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
