Job Summary
Senior Production Support Engineer at Questrade Financial Group specializes in SRE-focused production stability, leveraging AI/ML for proactive resilience. You will define SLIs/SLOs and apply ML/LLMs to predictive incident response, architect self-healing workflows, automate remediation (e.g., auto-restarting pods, failovers), and manage highly available cloud-native systems (GKE, Terraform, Helm). You will lead War Rooms during critical incidents, coordinate across Engineering, DBAs, Network teams, and Executives, and drive long-term improvements through post-mortems. The role emphasizes automation, AI-driven dashboards, and a strong foundation in trading system contexts, requiring 5+ years in production support and proficiency across Python, C#, Bash, GCP/GKE, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, Splunk, Datadog, Linux, Windows IIS, and MS SQL/MySQL.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in production support
- proficient in Python, C#, and Bash
- GCP and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) mastery
- container orchestration and IaC using Kubernetes (Kubectl), Helm, and Terraform
- Splunk Administration/Querying and Datadog experience
- Linux systems expertise; Windows IIS server understanding
- MS SQL/MySQL experience
- strong incident lifecycle management; incident command experience
- ability to automate remediation patterns (auto-restarting stalled pods, triggering failovers, clearing cache bottlenecks)
- AI/ML-driven automation, ML models for smart alerting and anomaly detection
- experience building AI-enhanced dashboards
- experience with self-healing/workflow automation
- experience with GKE auto-scaling and cloud-native architectures
- familiarity with trading/financial systems a plus
- excellent collaboration and leadership during high-severity incidents
- blameless post-mortems to drive long-term improvements
- ability to mentor junior engineers and set technical standards
