Job Summary
Conduct routine maintenance of propulsion, auxiliary, and mechanical systems on the M/V Excellence, an at-sea fish processor operating nine months annually. Maintain working knowledge of company, ship, and government safety policies while managing critical spare parts, inventory, and consumables. Apply strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude to prioritize daily maintenance projects independently or as part of a team. This physically demanding role requires lifting 50 lbs and working in confined spaces. Candidates must hold a USCG Merchant Mariner Credential with QMED rating, STCW, Medical Certificate, and TWIC. Average rotation is 60-90 days sharing port and sea time.
Required Qualifications
- Must be fit for duty, able to lift 50 lbs without assistance, manage stairs and ladders, and be able to work in small or confined spaces
- Prefer candidates with current USCG Merchant Mariner Credential with QMED rating, STCW, Medical Certificate and TWIC
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience working on ships, preferably at sea
