Job Summary
The Medication Technician role involves documenting, delivering, and administering medications to residents under physician guidance while ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations. Key responsibilities include assisting residents with medications and daily care, maintaining accurate medication records, coordinating with pharmacies and physicians, participating in narcotic counts, and responding promptly to resident needs. Candidates must possess a high school diploma, be at least 18 years old, and have the ability to interact effectively with residents and follow written and oral directions. Experience with medication handling is preferred, but training is provided. The position supports personal and professional growth in a supportive team environment.
Required Qualifications
- Age 18 or over, or have the proper work permit and work authorization documentation
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience handling medications preferred but on the job training is available for candidates with the right attitude and desire
- Background clearances as required by government regulations
- Complete a health screening and provide negative TB test results (must be within the last 6 months or within 7 days of employment)
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Ability to follow oral and written directions
- Ability to interact effectively with people of different ages and backgrounds
- Must meet and maintain all state specific regulatory requirements
- Must maintain HIPAA compliance at all times
