Job Summary
Administer, document, and monitor regularly prescribed medications for residents per physician orders under the direction of the Wellness Director and in accordance with State Medication Administration Regulations. Quickly learn each resident’s medication preferences, document administration in medical records, and observe for reactions/side effects. Take and record vital signs prior to administration, administer PRN meds as ordered, and report any medication errors. Assist in developing and reviewing the resident’s care plan with other disciplines; ensure privacy, safety, and dignity; and support daily care tasks (toileting, grooming, bathing, feeding, mobility, etc.). Requires state-approved Medication Administration training and CO QMAP certification; minimum high school diploma or equivalent; typically three years of experience in a senior living setting is preferred. Strong communication skills in English and ability to work with licensed nurses is essential.
Required Qualifications
- State approved Medication Administration training
- First Aid certification as required by ALF regulations
- QMAP in the state of CO
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to read and write English
- Experience in Assisted Living or Memory Care (preferred)
- Must work with licensed nurses and follow physician orders
- Knowledge of Medication Administration Procedures
- Good communication skills
