Job Summary
As a QMA, administer medications to residents according to state regulations and community policies, while supporting residents' independence and quality of life. Responsibilities include preparing and administering prescribed oral, topical, eye, nasal, and ear medications; administering PRN drugs when authorized; checking orders against medication forms; maintaining drug storage and a clean work environment; managing medication cart securely; assisting with tubing and alarms; performing rounds and communicating needs to the charge nurse; recording vital signs and timely charting with co-signature by a licensed nurse; complying with HIPAA and privacy practices; ordering medications from the pharmacy per physician orders. Requires state-approved medication administration training, CPR certification, a current QMA certificate, and ability to work overtime. Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of a state approved training program in medication administration
- Current-CPR Certification
- Current QMA Certificate for current state
- Must complete annual medication evaluation with Registered Pharmacy Consultant
- Ability to work overtime
