Job Summary
Part-Time Qualified Medication Aide duties include setting up and administering medications per physician orders and state/federal regulations, charting routine medications and PRN observations, inventory management, rounds with nurse and physician, preparing monthly medication records, providing personal care, maintaining resident documentation, and participating in training. Requires High school diploma or GED, Nurse Aide Training Program completion (or eligibility to complete and pass state test within 120 days), knowledge of medication administration, ability to perform basic math, and prior healthcare experience is desirable. Ability to work with residents and staff in a quality-focused care setting.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Graduate of an approved Nurse Aide Training Program or be eligible to enter such a program and graduate and pass a state test within 120 days from date of employment
- An understanding of medication administration procedures and successful completion of a state approved training course
- Ability to perform basic math functions
- Ability to relate information concerning a resident’s condition
- Prior experience in a healthcare environment is desirable
- Willingness to work harmoniously with all staff
- Patience and tact in dealing with residents
