Job Summary
Provide routine medication administration and personal care for residents to ensure high-quality resident care. Set up and administer medications per physician’s orders and state/federal regulations; chart routine medications and documentation; maintain inventory; rounds with nurse and physician; provide basic nursing care and maintain a safe, clean environment; participate in trainings and maintain certification. Requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of an approved Nurse Aide Training Program or eligibility to enter such a program and pass a state test within 120 days; understanding of medication administration and ability to perform basic math; experience in healthcare desirable.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Graduate of an approved Nurse Aide Training Program or eligible to enter such a program and graduate and pass a state test within 120 days
- An understanding of medication administration procedures and successful completion of a state approved training course
- Ability to perform basic math functions
- An understanding of resident care procedures and standards
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
- Prior healthcare experience desirable
- Ability to interact professionally with residents, families, and staff
