Job Summary
QMA role providing medications and nursing care to residents under supervision of the community nurse; perform CNA functions; administer a range of medications (oral, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, and optic) with physician/licensed nurse authorization for PRN treatments; monitor effects and report any adverse events; document medication administration and resident refusals in medical records; coordinate with LPN/RN; maintain HIPAA/privacy; adhere to policies and procedures; demonstrate compassionate geriatric care and ability to work with residents and staff; require high school diploma or equivalent, state-approved medication administration course, and CNA certification in Indiana.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a state-approved medication administration course
- Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (state of Indiana)
- Maintain certification as a CNA
- Knowledge of medication administration equipment and procedures
- Ability to document and report medication administration
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds occasionally and up to 60 pounds frequently
