Job Summary
Prepare and administer prescribed oral, topical, and PRN medications to residents while documenting all actions and maintaining clean drug storage. Administer vital signs, count drugs with the charge person at shift change, and care for patient tubing and bags as instructed. Check physician orders against forms, answer call lights and alarms promptly, and make rounds to report resident conditions to the charge nurse. Keep medical records current with co-signature and comply with HIPAA privacy practices. Requires state-approved training, CPR certification, and ability to work Friday through Sunday shifts with overtime.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work overtime
- Successful completion of a state approved training program in medication administration
- Must complete annual medication evaluation with Registered Pharmacy Consultant
- Current-CPR Certification
- Current QMA Certificate for current state
