Job Summary
Audit all engines during various stages of the build process, inspecting them using provided checklists to stop defects from moving forward. Accurately record non-conformances in the AQE system and communicate findings to appropriate personnel for repair. Rotate through multiple quality gates in assembly areas, requiring training in diverse zones. Work closely with assembly personnel, support groups, and management to meet product quality goals. Learn and utilize Caterpillar systems such as MESA and AQE effectively. Maintain flexibility for overtime as needed to support production demands. Perform tasks requiring lifting up to 40 lbs, bending, squatting, and standing for long periods while wearing required PPE.
Required Qualifications
- Must successfully pass BAT (Basic Assembly Training) both written and hands on
- Torque concept
- Gauging skills
- Quality experience
- Engine knowledge
- Print reading skills
- Basic computer skills
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs
- Must be able to bend and twist at the waist and be able to squat
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Consistent usage of required PPE for task being performed
- Position is for 2nd Shift 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM
