Job Summary
Oversee all quality assurance and safety programs to ensure full compliance with project requirements and regulatory standards. Implement, manage, and continuously improve quality control and workplace safety initiatives in alignment with approved plans while promoting a culture of accountability and risk prevention. Interface with the SBU Sr. Quality Manager to resolve compliance gaps and independently develop Job Hazard Analyses with appropriate hazard controls. Conduct root cause analyses on safety-related incidents, evaluate barriers to compliance, and assess safety performance measures to determine their effectiveness in managing risk. Prepare site-specific safety plans for ESS contracts, participate in management reviews, and maintain the status of safety activities through regular engagement with Supervisors and Key Personnel. Serve as the primary point of contact for safety compliance and program effectiveness on assigned contracts, providing formal reporting of findings and recommendations to leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years' experience in management of construction projects (managing safety programs or processes or conducting hazard analyses and developing controls)
- Minimum five (5) years of construction industry safety experience or three (3) years if possesses a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or safety and health degree
- Must have completed the 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety Class
- Must have completed the course entitled 'Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors'
- Be familiar with requirements of USACE EM 385-1-1
- experience in the areas of hazard identification, safety compliance and sustainability
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain quality and safety documentation (e.g., QA/QC reports, QASPs, APPs, and man-hour tracking reports)
- Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and Outlook
- Must write clearly and informatively; edit work for spelling and grammar; vary writing style to meet needs; present numerical data effectively; able to read and interpret written information
