QC Technician / Weld Inspector, 1st shift (West Bend)

Job Summary
Interpret blueprints, work orders, and engineering specifications to determine production standards and tolerance limits. Perform inspections on first pieces, in-process items, purchased parts, and finished products, testing for paint quality, welding integrity, dimensions, fit, and appearance. Conduct weld testing using UT, PT, and VT methods where applicable. Troubleshoot print and bill of materials issues with Engineering and production staff while recommending assembly and welding methods. Route products for re-work, process purchase damage numbers, and ensure correct packaging and loading. Complete all required records, including inspection reports, damage reports, and re-work orders. Analyze results to resolve production deviations and communicate tolerance issues to plant supervision. Comply with safety, sanitation, and housekeeping regulations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication and job shop operations
- Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Ability to inspect welds and fabricated parts for quality compliance
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents such as blueprints, routings, work orders, engineering specifications and safety regulations
- Ability to complete routine ISIR reports and documentation
- Ability to effectively present information to engineering and other employees of the organization
- Self-motivator
- Must be flexible to accommodate the needs of your team
Desired Qualifications
- CMM / PCDMIS / Romer Arm Operations or knowledge
- Ability to perform well in a team environment
