Job Summary
Receive and log samples into the LIMS system, perform analytical chemistry testing on in-process, raw, and finished products, and analyze environmental samples to ensure they meet quality specifications. Check, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instrumentation while preparing reports of analytical chemistry results and entering data. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related physical science with at least one year of laboratory experience, proficiency with ICP, UV-VIS, GC, IC, and FT-IR techniques, and the ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts including mandatory overtime and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Both informal and formal data reporting and use of IT tools
- Presentation skills sufficient to communicate thoughts succinctly to Lab Supervisor and Operations managers
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent time management skills
- Comfortable working in an environment where priorities change rapidly
- 12 hour rotating shifts
- Mandatory overtime
- Weekends
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry from an A.C.S. accredited chemistry program
- Bachelor's Degree in other physical science disciplines if strong evidence of laboratory analytical chemistry skill is demonstrated
- Minimum of 1 year of Analytical Chemistry laboratory experience
- Experience with ICP, UV-VIS, GC, IC, and FT-IR
- Spectroscopy
