QC Technician I

Job Summary
Perform routine and complex microbiology- and chemistry-focused assays under GLP and ISO guidelines, including microbial enumeration, identification, sterility testing, and environmental monitoring. Assist in developing new QC procedures, participate in troubleshooting and investigations, qualify equipment, and contribute to product release. Maintain high quality standards, adhere to SOPs and STPs, and collaborate with team members in a Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm schedule. Emphasizes data accuracy, problem solving, and adherence to quality systems; requires strong attention to detail and proficiency with microbiology lab techniques and data analysis.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a science-related field with 1-2 years of relevant microbiology laboratory experience
- High School diploma with some college coursework in microbiology or related science or 3 years of relevant microbiology laboratory technician experience (quality control setting preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or related science field with experience in microbiology is highly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret English-language safety rules, SOPs, and technical documents; ability to read computer screens and write routine reports; communicate clearly in group settings
- Ability to perform routine laboratory work with aseptic technique; proficient in using laboratory equipment (autoclaves, incubators, pipettes)
- Must pass a standardized color deficiency test with a score > 80%
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally; comfortable in a laboratory environment with PPE
