Job Summary
Quality Technician IV responsible for performing comprehensive analysis and inspection of finished goods, in-process materials, and raw materials using chemical, physical, and instrumental methods to ensure compliance with established quality standards. This role also serves as the primary trainer and subject matter resource for new and developing team members, leading onboarding, delivering structured training, ensuring SOP adherence, and fostering technical competency across the team. The position may involve rotating or day shift schedules, with ownership of training excellence, knowledge transfer, and team capability development as central expectations. Key duties include performing multi-area QC testing (PAP controls, APAP controls, finished goods), raw material testing, sampling and shipment coordination, hazardous and non-hazardous sample handling, maintaining accurate records in LIMS, troubleshooting instrumentation, and leading continuous improvement efforts within a GMP-compliant laboratory environment.
Required Qualifications
- Associates of Science (AS) or Bachelors of Science (BS) or equivalent life science degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years QC Lab experience in rotating areas (PAP Controls, APAP Controls Lab, and Finished Lot testing) for rotating assignment
- Minimum 5 years QC/QA experience or closely related field for day shift assignment
- Working knowledge of cGMP required
- Ability to lead, train, and mentor team members; strong documentation and problem-solving skills
- Ability to comprehend and independently carry out written procedures; perform mathematical calculations
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment; understand chemical properties and preparation of volumetric solutions
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with laboratory information systems like LIMS
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities
- Safety and PPE compliance; ability to work in a lab environment with potential chemical exposure
- Leadership and communication skills; ability to coordinate with QA and management
- Experience with regulatory and quality systems in a pharmaceutical/biotech setting
