QC Supervisor

Lead day-to-day QC Laboratory operations in a regulated culture media manufacturing environment, supervising staff and planning workloads to ensure compliant and timely microbiology testing of finished products, raw materials, and samples. Review and authorise QC test results and documentation within delegated authority, maintain audit readiness and data integrity, and support internal/external audits and UKAS/accreditation assessments. Oversee laboratory equipment, consumables, reagents, media, reference cultures, and controlled documentation to ensure availability and suitability for use. Drive investigations, CAPAs, deviations and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, efficiency and turnaround times. Requires a degree in Microbiology, Biomedical Science, Food Science, Biological Sciences or related discipline and at least 3 years’ experience in a busy microbiology laboratory within a regulated manufacturing/quality context. Strong understanding of GMP/GLP, laboratory safety requirements (COSHH, PPE), and staff development/leadership. The role offers senior supervisory responsibilities and cross-functional collaboration with QA, Production, Planning and Operations to deliver compliant products.
