Job Summary
Coordinate inspection activities for aerospace ground support equipment components, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications, customer requirements, and ISO 9001 standards. Provide technical guidance on metrology equipment, GD&T interpretation, and drawing reviews while approving inspection reports, First Article Inspections, and nonconformance documentation. Supervise QC Inspectors by assigning tasks, managing workflows, and training staff on inspection techniques. Drive improvements in inspection efficiency, represent Quality Control in Gemba walks, and escalate systemic issues to management. Support internal and external audits and maintain alignment between quality requirements and production execution.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 7 years of QA/QC experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace or automotive
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience
- Strong proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, including GD&T
- Skilled in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
- Proficient in the use of standard metrology instruments, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, plug/ring gauges, pin gauges, and bore gauges
- Familiarity with advanced metrology equipment such as CMMs, Romer/Faro arms, and laser trackers
- Working knowledge of machining processes and welded assemblies
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to sit, walk and stand
- Ability to talk or hear, both in person and by telephone
- Ability to use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
