QC Scientist II (2nd Shift)

Job Summary
QC Scientist II on second shift based in Greenville, NC. Provides moderately complex analytical testing of in-process, finished product, stability, and cleaning samples using validated methods (HPLC, GC, spectroscopy) and traditional wet chemistry. Supports internal manufacturing operations, communicates results, and participates in investigations and RCA with QA; prepares regulatory documents and SOPs; maintains instrumentation and software (Trackwise, LIMS). Works with clients and internal departments to ensure compliance with GMP/GxP and quality standards; requires PPE and ability to handle hazardous materials; offers competitive compensation and benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience in a GMP-regulated laboratory environment performing analytical testing
- Advanced degree (MS or higher) in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or related field preferred
- Experience with chromatographic data acquisition systems and HPLC preferred
- Proficiency with HPLC, GC, spectroscopy, and traditional wet chemical testing
- Strong knowledge of cGMP regulations and quality control requirements
- Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and quality management systems
- Excellent documentation practices, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in teams; ability to lift up to 30 pounds; ability to stand for extended periods
- Willingness to wear PPE including lab coat, safety glasses, and gloves
- Experience with method validation and transfer activities preferred
- Knowledge of data integrity and good documentation practices
- Demonstrated ability to investigate out-of-specification results and author technical reports
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
