Job Summary
Review construction sites full-time, Monday through Friday, verifying that building work conforms to approved documents, applicable codes, standards, and guidelines. Observe and document compliance by taking photos of progress, writing field reports, and uploading them to client-accessible file sharing platforms. Manage project payments by reviewing contractor applications and recommending approvals to the owner. Issue Certificates of Occupancy or Completion, verify punch list resolution, and submit monthly Design & Construction Status Reports. Report on removal or repair of defective work as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- State of Florida Plan Review License (PX) or provisional license in building, electrical, mechanical, and/or plumbing
- State of Florida Inspector License (BN) or provisional license in building, electrical, mechanical, and/or plumbing
- ICC Residential & Commercial Plans Examiner and/or Inspection certification in building, electrical, mechanical, and/or plumbing
- Minimum 5 years of experience performing code compliance inspections
- Must have knowledge of the Florida Building Code and other regulations pertaining to construction and development
- Ability to understand and interpret codes and evaluate project proposals and projects under construction to verify conformance with code requirements
- Experience with MS Office (MS Word)
- Must be able to visit the job site full-time (M-F), 40 hrs. per week
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with MS Excel
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat
- Bachelor's degree in the construction or design field
- 3 years in construction administration or superintendent/construction manager role
- Experience in managing construction projects as an architect, superintendent, project manager, or similar role, specifically during the construction administration phase of a project
