Job Summary
Implement and oversee all SOPs, SSOPs, and GMPs for the production center while conducting process audits and inspecting products throughout the production cycle. Train the QC Operations team in basic food safety practices, coach staff on risk categorization, and investigate customer issues and complaints. Provide technical expertise, interpret quality control philosophy, and maintain active roles on internal continuous improvement teams. Execute quality control training programs, delegate work assignments, and apply total quality management tools to analytical processes. Work in a refrigerated environment (-9º-42º Fahrenheit) for eight hours, follow company policies, and adapt to high-stress, fast-paced conditions with multiple change-overs.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of quality assurance or quality control experience in a food production facility
- Demonstrable knowledge of Federal regulatory requirements and compliance
- Working knowledge of USDA and FDA food regulations
- Ability to work in a refrigerated environment (-9º-42º Fahrenheit) for 8 or more hours and in some instances, in a dark environment
- Ability to communicate duties, tasks, policies and procedures to the team members through trainings and informal meetings
- Ability to plan and prioritize workload
- Ability to read and follow written and/or verbal instructions accurately in English
- Attention to detail, accuracy, thoroughness, and flexibility
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
- Must uphold and follow workplace safety, food safety, and production quality standards
- Ability to work in high stress/fast-paced environment with multiple change-over's
- Must be willing and able to work a variety of shifts and overtime as required
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, in group settings
